Last week, I was looking for an address to have lunch with a friend in the Halles district (we met to do our shopping at G. Detou)
and I came across Marcelle, just next door, rue Montmartre, which on paper I really liked, a coffee shop with healthy, homemade food, in short everything I like!
Well, I took some, this address is really great, the decoration is really nice, the service too and on the plate, yummy! My friend opted for a menu with a jus fait minute, soup of the day and dessert, and I fell for focaccia veggie and dessert. Followed by a coffee each, all for 20 euros. Quite frankly very good value for money.
Both the soup and the sandwich were absolutely delicious and then the desserts (lemon cake and chestnut cake) were a kill! Never before have I eaten such a good chestnut cake, not dry at all, very soft, I still salivate from it. And my sandwich was really very tasty and very copious!
The menus change every day, are mostly vegetarian, and everything makes me want to go back.
A little something extra, at Marcelle, we think about the environment, so no plastic, the straws in particular are biodegradable. Very good point! And I was offered, as I had a little trouble finishing my huge piece of cake, to take it home in a doggy bag. Really nice reflex, not widespread enough for my taste!
So you will have understood it I overvalidate this address, for a lunch or a snack in the district of Les Halles, they are open from 9am to 6pm every day.
